The Accordionist Entertains

Ian Robinson, employed as a proofreader at Oxford media Group (OMG), is also a long-standing experienced accordionist and entertainer.

The residents of Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll, were treated to an evening of hand-clapping, toe-tapping and foot-stomping songs and melodies from yesteryear.

The re-arranged musical program featured a mix of sea shanties, folk songs, an Elvis Presley medley together with a number of rousing Christmas songs and carols.

The audience was told the background story about Silent Night which was first performed on Christmas Eve 1818 at St. Nicholas' Church in Oberndorf, Austria.

A moving rendition of Danny Boy, dedicated to the accordionist's granddad, brought the evening's performance to a close.
